Jakarta, Indonesia - June 30, 2024 - The world turned its gaze to Jakarta today as the prestigious Induk KUD Headquarters played host to a historic signing ceremony, marking a monumental step forward in Indonesia's journey towards sustainable agriculture and food security. Induk KUD, also known as the National Federation of Rural Cooperatives of Indonesia and the largest agricultural and fisheries cooperative in Indonesia and globally, welcomed esteemed leaders and dignitaries from around the world including Brunei, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Switzerland and the United States, to witness the forging of transformative partnership,s aimed at fortifying the nation's agricultural resilience.

At the helm of this historic occasion were Mr. Portasius Nggedi, Chairman of Induk KUD, and Dr. Ferry Julianto, Secretary General of the Board of Advisors, representing the Induk KUD Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, also the President-Elect of Indonesia. Their presence underscored Induk KUD's unwavering commitment to driving sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring self-sufficient food security for Indonesia and beyond.

The signing ceremony between Mr. Portasius Nggedi, Chairman of Induk KUD, and Dr. Nasir Latif, Chairman of FarmFresh Industries, marked an important milestone in agricultural development and food security initiatives. The event underscored several pivotal initiatives designed to advance agricultural progress and ensure long-term food security for future generations. A central aspect of the agreements was the formation of a joint venture between Induk KUD and FarmFresh Industries. This joint venture aims to manage, finance, and develop the Indonesia School Meal Programs. The primary goal of this initiative is to provide nutritious meals to the nation's youth, thereby supporting their health and development. Moreover, it lays the foundation for sustainable, self-sufficient food security, which is essential for bolstering national food production efforts and reducing dependency on external food sources.

In addition to the Indonesia School Meal Programs, the ceremony also announced the establishment of the Brunei Food Valley. This ambitious farming initiative focuses on agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock production, covering an expansive area of 1.2 million hectares. The development of plantations and processing facilities within the Brunei Food Valley is aimed at supporting the Indonesia School Meal Program. Moreover, this project is a significant step towards achieving self-sufficiency in food production and enhancing food security for both Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.

The collaboration between Induk KUD and FarmFresh Industries signifies a strategic partnership dedicated to addressing the critical issues of food security and agricultural development. By integrating efforts and resources, these initiatives are poised to make substantial contributions to the well-being and prosperity of communities in both countries. Furthermore, Falco Global Partners has unveiled plans to launch the Indonesia Next Generation Fund, highlighting its dedication to empowering local farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices to drive inclusive economic growth. Verdana International, a global leader in carbon asset management and development, will support the Induk KUD joint venture by utilizing carbon finance to enhance food security. Concurrently, Alcove Investment Management will collaborate with Induk KUF to develop halal trade and investment opportunities for the national benefit of Indonesia.

In his address, Mr. Portasius Nggedi, Chairman of Induk KUD, reaffirmed the organization's dedication to national food production and food security, stating, "Induk KUD plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture in Indonesia and the world.
